Very dressed up. Still completely themselves.
Matric farewells come with all the obvious photographs. The dresses, the details, the ones everyone wants for the frame. My job is to leave enough room for the bits in between too. Toni and Chloe’s afternoon at Rietvlei Zoo gave us plenty of both.
The best part of photographing two people together is that they give each other something the camera never can. A glance, a joke, a tiny reaction. You can direct the photograph, but you can’t manufacture that bit. You just have to be ready for it.
